Let me be the first to welcome you to your sports mom era. Inside your welcome packet, you will find a baseball hat to hide the unwashed hair for those 9 AM games. You will also find a Starbucks card, two double-shot cans of espresso (yes, you need all that caffeine), a neck fan, and a lawn chair cozy enough for when you spend three hours a day in the same space. For real, though, when your child starts sports, it’s a pretty exciting thing! You are about to join a sacred community full of tired yet enthusiastic moms and dads. Now, it’s just a matter of finding an organized league with the sports of your choice. As a Jacksonville family photographer, I am lucky enough to spend my time chatting with parents about their favorite local spots. Here are the Jacksonville youth sports leagues to check out!
8000 Baymeadows Road East, Jacksonville, Florida 32256
With i9 Sports Jacksonville, you will have your choice of youth sports, including soccer, flag football, basketball, and volleyball. Their leagues run all year long with seven weeks of play. Throughout your child’s time here, the experienced coaches will work with them to build up their skills. Your child will also get to participate in games against teams of their own age. You will be able to find options for kids starting in pre-k.
100 Recreation Lane, Jacksonville, North Carolina 28546
JaxParks Athletics is one of my favorite Jacksonville spots for youth sports programs for younger kids. While their selection is a little more limited, you will still have passionate coaches teaching your child the importance of teamwork. They offer basketball as well as pickleball. Through different seasons, you can also find softball and basketball. They offer discounts to city residents, but anyone can sign up. You can select programs for kids starting at the age of 5.
100 Recreation Lane, Jacksonville, North Carolina 28546
City of Jacksonville Athletics works alongside JaxPark Athletics to raise young athletes in youth sports. They partner with different organizations around the area to ensure your child will be able to find the option that’s right for them. Your child can choose from football, basketball, cheerleading, soccer, and tennis. With this organization, you never have to miss out on the fun. They offer adult programs, including pickup games and seasonal leagues.
3322 Moody Ave, Orange Park, Florida 32065
While the YMCA has always offered pretty fabulous programs, they are constantly looking to the future of kids’ activities. Above all else, they are going to focus on encouraging teamwork while developing your child’s strength. They offer all the standard programs including soccer, baseball, basketball, and tumbling. You can also sign your child up for esports.
With these Jacksonville youth sports leagues, your child can have an activity they adore! Check them out so you can get started on the next era of your family’s life!
