Bringing home a new baby is one of life’s most exciting moments. Between sleepless nights, endless cuddles, and learning your baby’s rhythm, time flies by faster than you realize. That’s why newborn photography is such a gift — it preserves the details you’ll want to remember forever.
If you’re considering booking a newborn photography session in Jacksonville, Fl, you might be wondering: “What actually happens during the session?” Great question! Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at what to expect when you bring your little one to my Jacksonville photography studio.

Newborns are happiest when they’re cozy, so our studio is kept at a warm temperature to help your baby stay relaxed and sleepy. I also use soft blankets and soothing white noise to create a calm atmosphere. Parents often joke that they could take a nap right alongside their baby — and sometimes they do!

Unlike other photo sessions, newborn sessions are never rushed. Babies need to eat, cuddle, and sometimes take a break, and that’s completely normal. Sessions usually last 2–3 hours, giving us plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and capturing a variety of poses without stress.

Safety always comes first. Every pose is done slowly, with your baby’s comfort in mind. I guide your little one into natural, curled-up positions that highlight their tiny features. Parents are always welcome to sit nearby and watch how I handle each pose.
I also offer a wide selection of props, wraps, and backdrops — from classic neutral tones to colorful, themed setups. Whether you love simple elegance or whimsical creativity, we’ll design the session to fit your style.

Newborn sessions aren’t just about the baby — they’re about family. If you’d like, we’ll capture portraits with parents, siblings, and even grandparents. These images are often the most treasured, showing your family’s first days together in a beautiful, timeless way.

I provide most of what you’ll need, including props, swaddles, and outfits sized for newborns. Parents just need to bring:
Diaper bag with extra diapers and wipes
Bottles or supplies for feeding (if not nursing during the session)
A special keepsake if you’d like it included (such as a blanket from grandma or a favorite stuffed animal)

After your session, I carefully hand-edit each image to bring out the best details. Then, you’ll view a gallery of proofs at your Ordering Appointment and choose your favorites for prints, albums, and wall art. Many parents love creating a keepsake album or a canvas for the nursery — heirlooms that last for generations.

Your newborn session is more than just a photoshoot — it’s a relaxed, meaningful experience designed around your baby and your family. By knowing what to expect, you can arrive feeling confident and excited, ready to capture some of life’s most precious memories.
If you’re searching for a Jacksonville newborn photographer who will make the process easy and enjoyable, I’d love to welcome you into my studio.
